The Program equips future bakers and pastry cooks with the skills, knowledge and practical experience to work anywhere in the world.

Highly qualified and award winning lecturing staff use their vast industry experience to create bakery professionals who are innovative, passionate, forward thinking and quality driven. Training is complemented by the world-class practical facilities at TAFE SA Regency International Centre which reflect current industry standards. Facilities include a fully operational and publicly accessible café/food retail shop and first class bakeries which ensure that the professional Bakery Programs continue to be widely regarded as some of the best in the world.

Success of Bakery graduates can mainly be attributed to the hands-on nature of the Program. Under direction of professional bakers and pastry cooks, together with current industry specialists, students spend at least 75% of their training time each day preparing and baking an extensive range of baking items in a fully commercial bakery. The practical group sizes of up to 15 students allows a great deal of attention to be paid to the development of individual students. The intensive training environment enables students to be involved in the production of goods for the publicly accessible café and retail outlets at Regency Campus.

The Bakery Program has close links with industry and has been a major influence in the development of a national curriculum for apprentice bakers, pastry cooks, bakers, patisserie workers and other specialised areas both in Australia and internationally.

Regency International Centre is a world class facility that delivers training in cookery, hospitality management, patisserie, bakery, butchery, tourism and food processing.

In addition, it proudly boasts a state of the art brewery, cheese making facility, coffee academy and winery and runs industry based courses through these facilities. The Centre trains some 8,000 students annually, either on campus, in industry, or through our online programs.
