Duration: 60-80 hour online course with printed workbook for fare construction with practical exercises. Revision and Final Assessment – another 20 hours allowed. You can access the course for 6 months, but it is best to complete it and the assessment within 4 months for maximum retention of the material.

Why do I need to learn about IATA Fares and Ticketing?

This qualification forms the basis of the required knowledge of global airfares. It will give you the background and training so necessary to understand the world of airfares. The IATA system of fare construction applies when flexible, multi-carrier itineraries are required, they often apply to corporate or business travel for full, economy, business and first class travel. IATA mileage fares offer great flexibility for your client.

You will learn how to calculate normal international airfares using the steps of the IATA Mileage System of Fare Construction using a Computer Reservation System (CRS) – also called a GDS (Global Distribution System).

Also – if you want to hold a Travel Agent’s Licence in Australia you must have a certificate for SITTTSLO13A.

PREREQUISITES

Experience using a CRS/GDS - Galileo, CRS or Amadeus a help but not mandatory.

This course is designed for industry personnel who need to know more about IATA Fare Construction using a CRS/GDS. Construct normal international airfares or SITTTSLO13A is the main focus of the course but the course also contains the important mixed class fare construction and round the world fare construction subjects. Plus e-ticketing and linear fare construction. All you need to become a fares expert!
