CFP® Certification Program

CFP certification is the only globally recognised mark of professionalism for financial planners.

Education is a fundamental and vital part of obtaining the CFP certification. For that reason the FPA is committed to ensuring that graduates of the CFP Certification Program have the skills and technical knowledge necessary to provide the highest level of strategic financial planning advice to their clients.

Candidates must successfully complete an advanced education program which aligns to the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) Body of Knowledge. The education program consists of:

Vision

The FPA provides the leadership and professional framework that enable its members to deliver quality financial advice to their clients.

Implementing a vision

The vision and strategic priorities for the future direction were developed by our Board and have been updated to take into account an extensive process of consultation, including the 2007 Survey and national roadshow. Members can continue to be involved in shaping our future through Chapter involvement, committee participation, and championing professional standards. A strong, vibrant and growing the FPA is good for our profession, regulators and the government, who all have a common interest in meeting the needs and expectations of consumers.
