Get to know the principle wine regions of Austria and Germany with our Head Sommelier Lak Quach as your guide in a four week course.
Having completed vintages in both countries, Lak will get you up to speed with the main grape varieties and what to expect from the regions of Mosel, Nahe, Rheingau and Rheinhessen in Germany and the Wachau, Kremstal and Kamptal in Austria.
Places are limited, to avoid disappointment please don’t hesitate to book your seat. Light food will be served with the wines.

The City Wine Shop is both a retail wine shop and wine bar. Our primary focus is to present a well balanced range of quality wines by new and established producers from Victoria, Australia and Europe. In particular, we are major sellers of champagne and pride ourselves on being able to provide informed advice on the inherent styles. Our expertise extends to a selection of exotic spirits, liqueurs and ales. We are open for takeaway bottle sales until 11:30pm, seven days a week.
At the bar, we offer a range of wines by the glass, a 'round the clock' food menu and daily specials. The ‘Tea Room’ upstairs may be booked for functions of up to 35 people, or tailored wine tutorials for private and corporate customers.
To keep apace with City Wine Shop activities we encourage you to join our mailing list. As one of our regular customers you will be kept in the loop with information on retail wine offers and in-store tastings, in addition to dinners and tutored events with visiting wine dignitaries.
