Introduction:
This workshop is a natural progression for participants who have completed the portraiture workshop. This workshop is open to participants who have successfully completed the requirements of Course 1 & Course 3.
This workshop is a high energy instructional and practical location shooting experience, working with fashion models and make up artists across a number of fashion orientated projects.
Fashion is sourced from a number of established and up and coming labels and an edgy and creative approach is established and worked during the day. The workshop takes place at a number of locations pre-arranged by the tutor to make the most of the clothing and styling.
This workshop is designed for participants seeking guidance and instruction in the art and contemporary approach to high quality fashion imagery using natural light, flash and reflector techniques. Participants will be required to shoot a number of styles and bring their own ideas to the day.
An essential workshop for anybody interested in the field of fashion photography.
Learning Outcomes:
At the successful completion of this workshop participants will be able to:
Conduct and understand the requirements of designers and shooting a label identity
Create contemporary and creative images
Use flash and other light manipulation skills to the end product
Enhance their communication and shot selection ability
Timetable:
This workshop is delivered over a 6hour period. Timetables vary depending on the season and location. Please check the timetable for your preferred location.
Teaching Strategies:
This workshop is a mixture of theory, practical and feedback. The theory component supports the supplied workbooks. The practical session occupies the majority of the workshop and participants are expected to participate, collaborate and control the flow of the shoot under the guidance of their tutor. The workshop concludes with a final presentation of the created images supported by Q&A time.
The workshop is conducted over a selected number of locations pre-arranged by the tutor.
Equipment Requirements:
Participants are required to have their own DSLR camera a range of lenses and focal lengths from 24mm-70mm minimum. A flash, tripod and lens hood is required. Reflectors and scrims are supplied on the day. A good supply of charged batteries and spare memory cards is recommended. For non Canon users please supply the required transfer cable to download your images for presentation. Water and snacks are provided however we suggest you bring lunch and other beverage requirements.
Entry Requirements:
Participants are required to have successfully completed the course requirements of course level 1 & 3 or show sufficient capacity to undertake the workshop. Basic camera and flash operation is not covered in this workshop and participants must be able to operate their system manually and understand bounce flash and how to use flash as a secondary light source.
