General: This course is targeted to speakers of languages other than English. Learner groups may include:
Relatively recent arrivals who may or may not have qualifications and job skills.
Skilled migrants who have skills to meet job shortages, but need cultural knowledge and English language skills to equip them for the Australian workplace.
Learners who have little or no educational experience.
Older migrants who have worked for a number of years in unskilled or semi-skilled occupations and who are seeking to improve specific English language skills to enter new jobs...

ELICOS students needing fast track courses
It is a ‘bridging’ course designed to provide learners with language skills for a variety of work or study pathways.
Entry: Participants are enrolled in this qualification according to their skills and needs. This is determined by an assessment of a student’s skills. The use of Listening and Speaking, Reading and Writing competencies, within the Framework, guide placement in this level. It must be appropriate to their proficiency in English language.
Vocational or Educational outcomes: Students can go into a range of employment or further study options, including 21932VIC Certificate II in ESL (Access) or Certificate II industry qualifications.
Assessment: Assessment methods used in the ESL Framework provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate the learning outcomes at the specified standard. Assessment methods are flexible, valid, reliable and fair.
