Our teaching styles encourage interactive language use so you will have many opportunities to practise the skills you are learning.

In the morning classes intensively focus on core skills.

In the afternoon classes at Beginner to Pre-Intermediate levels focus on Speaking, Listening and Pronunciation. Students at these levels are given extra help to improve their spoken English and comprehension quickly and effectively.

Afternoon classes for Intermediate to Advanced level students consist of a range of afternoon electives which allow students to concentrate on a particular area of need. We offer only focused intensive electives, not unproductive 'activities', 'self access' or 'videos'. We include activities such as these for free, after class in our clubs program.

Shafston was established in 1996 and has grown to be the largest college of its type in Australia with over 50,000 students having attended since it's inception. The three Shafston campuses are unique! Two are located in the heart of Brisbane and the other is in the heart of the Gold Coast. The original Kangaroo Point Campus which is centered on 'Shafston House', a heritage-listed building constructed in 1851 is located on the banks of the beautiful Brisbane River and covers an area of five acres. The new purpose-built L'Academie Hotel is five minutes away in Brisbane's central business district. These campuses allow our students to enjoy a true university campus experience and atmosphere with beautiful outdoor spaces as well as excellent teaching and learning facilities. Shafston also boasts one of the most diverse student populations in the country.

"Shafston is dedicated to providing academic and cultural and social activities which encourage individual growth and cultural awareness in men and women from all nations in order to foster international understanding"
