Current Open Positions

Mid-Level Web Developer

You will be working with our senior developer based in Melbourne and support team in Seattle on building some exciting new Ruby/Rails products, as well as improving our existing doMore.com.au website and its supporting ruby apps.

We're looking for someone in the Geelong/Torquay area, however for the right candidate you can also work remotely out of Melbourne with the odd trip to Torquay for team building and brainstorming sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new Ruby applications from the ground up: from brainstorming, developing use cases and wireframing through to development, testing and performance measurement.
  • Maintain existing Ruby on Rails applications
  • Solve complex problems and drive our products forward

Requirements

  • We are looking for a mid-level developer with a few ruby/rails projects under their belt
  • You are confident with HTML/CSS/Javascript (preferably jQuery)
  • Familiar with SQL (we use postgres), and exposure to NoSQL databases
  • Comfortable with deploying and maintaining linux servers
  • Experienced with TDD

Bonus points

  • Experience with MongoDB, Sphinx, Google Analytics, Facebook and Web Services integration
  • A fancy degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or a related field
  • You're the go-to source for local knowledge among your friends
  • You love to travel but despise tourist traps, and crave sources for authentic local info
  • You have a real zest for life and love the prospect of helping others improve theirs through your work

Web Designer

We are a design-oriented company with a major focus on creating user experiences that delight users and solve complex problems in simple, intuitive ways. We're looking for a passionate designer with a solid User Interface background who has the vision and creativity to make our products simple, fun, and intuitive.

Responsibilities

  • Design experiences that delight users
  • Solve complex problems and drive our products forward
  • Lead the design of new products and initiatives
  • Map, wireframe, and mockup new features and products
  • Contribute to the product development of existing and new platforms
  • Testing variations on ideas as we're building our platform to enable customers to tell us (with their actions) what they love.

Requirements

  • Solid Adobe CS skills (Photshop/Illustrator)
  • Recognition that great design is more about solving problems, increasing user interactions than painting pretty pictures
  • A solid understanding of modern web technologies. You understand the ins and outs of HTML and CSS and have some experience in front end dev.
  • A portfolio demonstrating real-world experience creating great user-experiences
  • Self-teaching. If you don't know how to do something you figure it out
  • You have a “get it done” attitude and you can deliver great work consistently and on time.

  • Have exposure and experience in split testing UI designs.
  • You love to travel but despise tourist traps, and crave sources for authentic local info
  • A fancy degree in Design, or a related field
  • Previous experience working with Ruby Apps
