Our classes are designed to tool you up for the social tango scene - where the real poetry is created! All of our teachers are active social dancers and have a breadth of experience allowing them to pass on useful information for aspiring social tango dancers.

Special Packages to get you dancing expertly sooner

We want you to dance tango the best that you can. Tango is a dance best enjoyed with others, so we have a vested interest in getting you dancing expertly sooner - so that we can have the pleasure of dancing with you too! As such all our courses allow for multiple class attendance per week with each registration. As you progress to higher levels, we allow you to repeat all of the classes again, at no extra cost. There is nothing else that will get you dancing better sooner than doing your tango mileage!

With every course registration you receive a FREE gift lesson that you can use either at one of our introduction week lessons or that you can gift to a friend. All new students signing up to our full courses receive a FREE Tango CD to help train your ear and to aid your practice at home!

Tango Butterfly is a school run by people with a passion for the dance, music and history of contemporary Argentine Tango.  Its mission is to engender a love for an all-inclusive form of social Tango, to be shared with others.
 
We focus on providing students with the tools they need to enter the social tango scene and support them with a holistic education; including, an understanding of their role in the dance (and that of others), the importance of musicality, and an awareness of etiquette in social Tango. Experiencing tango in an Argentine tango milonga (social dance) is the ultimate goal, and we provide classes for students to learn the ‘art’ of tango, and practicas (or practice sessions) to act as a ‘half-way house’ between the classes and the end-game – dancing freely at a milonga.
 
Students of Tango Butterfly can expect to be introduced to methods that allow each individual to bring themselves into their Tango, without needing to resort to unnatural or rigid techniques that strip the dancer of their personality. There are no sequences to learn and improvisation is encouraged!
