This one-day workshop covers all the basics of glass cutting, design, mould making, two decoration techniques and firing schedules. Your instructor Marina will introduce you to the amazing possibilities of warm glass. You will complete a set of textured coasters and a patterned dish. All materials and use of tools is included along with a 3-course lunch a set of class notes and some excellent skills to apply to your next solo project. It's the ultimate glass experience! Your pieces are fired overnight and we arrange a suitable pick up point or delivery via Australia Post.

By the end of this course you will have mastered two decoration techniques in warm glass. You will have the knowledge necessary to make your own moulds and will have an understanding of the basic principals of slumping glass. Base firing schedules are provided to set you on your own exploration and discovery of this wonderful medium.
Due to the nature of materials used it is recommended that participants be at least 13 years of age. Participants who have severe wrist or hand weakness may find it difficult to manage the tools required. If you are unsure about this it is recommended that you contact Marina directly to discuss. Asthma sufferers will need to wear a dust mask for some parts of this workshop.
There is a maximum of 6 to a class. Classes are one day in duration (10am to 4pm) and generally run on a weekend. Week day classes can be negotiated for groups of two or more.
You will need closed shoes and clothing that covers your arms for safety reasons. As all meals drinks are provided you will need to advise us of any food allergies or aversions at the time of your booking.
