These sessions are for those wishing to come and draw from great models in a friendly relaxed and stimulating environment. The poses will be planned to include long and short poses and there will be an opportunity for participants to request poses if desired. These sessions will be largely untutored but for those that need some help it will be gladly given. Easels, drawing boards and chairs are all provided. There are however a limited number of easels so it is first come best dressed. The door will open at 9.45 to set up and the class will start promptly at 10am. Paper and charcoal for sale at a nominal price.

These sessions will start on Saturday the 17th of August and will run every Saturday unless there are other classes scheduled.

Sessions are Saturdays 9.45 am to set up session starts promptly at 10am and runs until 12pm (unless other classes scheduled)

Erika Gofton is a Melbourne based artist, working predominately with drawing and painting. Working with the human figure she explores notions of fragility, balance and tension and aims to create works that encourage the viewer to breathe in the stillness. Erika grew up in Hobart and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and Diploma of Education (secondary) from the University of Tasmania. She has exhibited in numerous group shows and had solo exhibitions at Smyrnios Gallery, Dickerson Gallery, Frances Keevil, Schubert Contemporary and The Substation: Centre for Art and Culture. She has been a finalist in the EMSLA, Sunshine Coast Art Prize, Mosman Art Prize, R & M McGivern Prize, Redland Westpac Art Prize, City of Albany Art Prize, and 6 times selected in the Williamstown Contemporary Art Prize. Erika is represented by Dickerson Gallery in Sydney and Anthea Polson in Queensland.
