Recorder Lessons

All students deserve a music education which will prepare them for a musical future. Very few students know what skills are required to be a musician.

At Wendy's Music we aim to give every student the experience in all musicianship skills so they are better able to choose and be prepared for their musical journey, whether that be playing for themselves at home, or playing professionally. This can be achieved through a varied and thorough syllabus that can be tailored to the student yet also easy has the focus on 'making music'.

Our beginner program is designed in small easy steps to make playing music achievable to everyone.

Our beginner, intermediate and advanced programs aim to give students a thorough music education which eliminate the common frustrations such as poor reading, lack of musical understanding, or limited repertoire.

There are 8 musicianship skills that form the basis for all Wendy's Music programs:

* Playing an instrument
* Reading music
* Understanding music
* Techniques of playing
* Listening
* Improvising
* Performing
* Playing with others

The Wendy's Music syllabus also includes other features:-

* a 'play at home' rewards program for establishing practice routines
* a system of certificates for students' motivation
* a 'graduation' system to acknowledge the achievement of a student in completion of all work * at each of the three stages
* regular performance opportunities

Our teachers are rigorously selected and trained. We provide them with a variety of effective resources that are linked to our comprehensive method. We believe our teachers make a positive influence on your students' musical development. Wendy's method and systems are based on 30 years of experience teaching music to all ages.
