Students will learn to operate safely in a kitchen cooking environment including correct use of tools equipment and cooking methods, learn techniques to turn simple cupcakes into individual and creative masterpieces using basic pipping and decorative techniques, learn how to use buttercream, ganache and rolled fondant for icing cupcakes, develop basic skills in cutting out and modelling to make decorations for cupcakes and gain knowledge of commercial products available to enhance the appearance of cupcakes including the different sizes, colours and types of patty pans available.

By the end of this course, students will have the ability to beautifully decorate cupcakes using a variety of techniques and specialist tools.

No restrictions

Class size - 9

This course runs for 3 hours on a Sunday afternoon

Students to provide 4-6 cup cakes to decorate during class time (these can be bought or home made) and 2 kitchen boards to work on. Also required - apron tea towel and a suitable container for carrying decorated cupcakes home.
