This class is the first lesson in the complete cooking course. You will be offered a refreshment on arrival and then given a short brief on safety and orientation. The chef demonstrates the courses to be cooked and answers any questions. The students then break into pairs to prepare the meal under the guidance of the chef. When all is ready you sit down and eat at a large single set table.

You will have the skills necessary to provide good food inexpensively with a minimum of effort. Importantly you are also taught many of the short cuts that professional chefs use to produce great results quickly - a bonus for guys on the go. By introducing you to the basic theories of cooking we expect that this is a course that you can enjoy for a lifetime.

Participants should be 18 years or older unless under direct parental supervision.

Aprons are provided to protect clothing. Closed shoes must be worn preferably with solid soles with good grip.

The price quoted is for one person.

The class is usually capped at 14 people per class. This allows for plenty of individual attention from our chefs.

There is nothing you need to bring, all is provided.

Please note: Sometimes classes have to be cancelled or re-scheduled if there are not enough bookings. If this occurs you will be given at least 3 days beforehand and given a range of options.

NB Please choose carefully. Any changes to a booking up to 5 days before a class will incur a $20 administration fee (GST included). No changes (apart from attendee name), can be made to a booking less than 5 days before a class.

All students receive a CD that has all the recipes, notes and lots of other information so it becomes a very handy reference material so you can show off at home!
