Thank you from doMore

I'd like to thank you for being involved in the community and the team and I hope that you've received value from being a part of it.

doMore was our original passion project born out of the desire to help connect people wanting to learn something new with experts that could teach them over 10 years ago.

Over the years we have helped almost 70,000 learners connect with one of over 1,500 courses and providers, across the country. For that, we're very proud and grateful for your contribution. also served to teach us about how to help measure and improve business performance and inspired the launch and growth of two other companies as a result, one of which we've decided to dedicate our resources and energy to making great.

We'll be switching the site off on Tuesday 31st of July. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us directly on [email protected].

Thanks again and good luck with your teaching endeavours in the future.

Warm regards,

The doMore team.

Adam Cunningham

Hi Shanon,

It's Adam here from doMore. Thanks for your question.

In addition to the advice from Leanne and Gabrielle from Balmaine Art Workshops, in the next few days, we'll be releasing a new feature specifically for people like you who haven't been able to find an exact match for their learning needs. We're calling it the "Teacher Finder".

You'll be able to post your request for a teacher / course of a certain subject. Our system will notify all the relevant teachers we're connected with in that region and if they believe they can be of service to you, they'll get in touch.

For teachers, it will be a way for them to browse for students that may be able to fill the last few seats in their classes.

This is to say, if you haven't had any luck over the next few days finding local classes, feel free to come back and post your request on the doMore Teacher Finder and we'll do our best to connect you with a great local teacher that meets your needs.

Thanks everyone.

Have a great day!

I would recommend Drawing classes for your daughter as a good place to start as well as looking into Pastel drawing and painting too. The Artist Society of Canberra and also Queenbeyan Art Society may be able to help you with information. Art shops are also a great place to ask. These places might also hold childrens classes. Good luck and I hope she finds something she will enjoy. Children are so creative and I think whatever she ends up doing will be great for her and her creativity.

Art Class Sydney

Hi Shannon
I don't know the Canberra market at all, but I am sure there would be some art classes there. Best to ask other parents or your daughter's art teacher where there are classes, or go toyour local art suppliers as they usually have flyers from teachers on the counter. Then check out the teachers you find -they should be chatty, have good personal expertise (you like their art!) and understand or have experience with 14 year old girls (they are so self critical!). I would still recommend starting with drawing because this is an immediate form of expression, with no real right or wrongs, and is fast becoming a really valued artform in the contemporary art scene. It also has lots of other applications- stress relief, visualising thoughts, creativity - Google was designed with a doodle on a napkin! Good luck!
